Natalies Useful Ideas For Planning A Party

Posted: under Party Planning.

When you decide to have a party the first thing that you need to decide is theme. This will decide the menu, specialty drinks, decorations, and music. Everything should revolve around the food, therefore much time should be used to plan the menu. It should take about four weeks for you to decide the menu, to have a date scheduled along with the time, and to invite all of you guests.

As soon as you have decided on your menu, surf the Internet for themed food ideas, decorating ideas, special drink recipes and anything else you might need to research. Finger foods work best and do not require a lot of dishes. Remember to have a budget and to stick with it, also prepare anything that can be ahead of time. You can prepare dips, relishes, and chutney a few days ahead of time.

The day before the party it is important to think about how you will set your table up. It makes things attractive to serve on platters and at different levels. The middle of the table needs to be the highest point and should have some sort of flower arrangement or even a theme centerpiece.

On the day of the party is when everything comes together. Do all of your last minute cleaning, set the bar up, and decorate all room that will be used. Do the rest of the cooking, and get the music and lighting right. Grant yourself at least a coupe of hours to get ready.

Platters of food will easily stay warm if you use hot plates, and this will grant you less to have to worry about. Do not be in a hurry to clear the table for coffee and desert this makes for a big killer of the party. About us.

When your party is all done you will realize that your close attention to detail has paid off. All of the people that had been there will remember how great of a party it was and will be talking about it for months, until the next one.

Party planning?

AZNLUCK asked:

Ok, so I’m planning a party, and it’s the first time I’ve ever had to plan one, it’s going to be at evening, with a few friends about ten or so people. There’s so much to think about, so far the only things I’ve decided on, that it’s going to be somewhat of a premiere party, it’s going to be outdoors and there’s going to be dinner and a toast and then a viewing of their film. A few of my friends have helped me to decide possible themes for the party by making themed music playlists (I know, it doesn’t SOUND that useful but it kinda helps) they’ve got a trance-like summery sounding one, a hip-hop “crunk” one, and a relaxing, electronic. And I have NO ideas on how to plan ANY of them. It’s so much to think about!

So, if you can tell me which theme you like the best for a party, a fun and creative non-alcoholic drink that can be served in wine glasses, foods that are quick and delicious, and possible dress codes.
